DEVELOPING THE WORKFORCE

Preparing leaders for tomorrow is a Foundation priority. The Foundation administers a variety of scholarships for leading development that helps prepare emerging leaders for the future advancement of the business community and society.

Scholarships are awarded based on a rating scale, which includes thoroughness of comments, information, verification and explanation, presentation of materials and financial need and are available to Crystal Lake Chamber members or their employees in good standing. 

Bob Blazier Scholarship for Leadership

Created in May of 2013 and named in recognition of Bob Blazier who has been a leader for the Crystal Lake Chamber and in the community since the early 1960’s.

The Bob Blazier Scholarship for Leadership recipient is awarded $500 to help provide financial support to applicants pursuing a major in education.

Leaders in Action Scholarship

Celebrating 42 years of leadership and professional development through the Leaders in Action Series brought to you by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce!  This is an interactive speaker series that will introduce participants to stretch their skills and challenge them to think beyond their comfort zones.  Experience sessions of engaging, professional development starting Thursday, January 18, 2018 visit www.clchamber.com for more details.

The Foundation has awarded forty six scholarships for the Leaders in Action Series since 2010 and is proud to offer seven more this year.  December 21, 2017 is the deadline to apply for the Leaders in Action Explore scholarship.

Mark A. Elmore Architect ScholarshipCreated in May of 2012 and named in recognition of Mark Elmore, a local architect, who has been a leader for the Crystal Lake Chamber and prior to that provided similar leadership for the Crystal Lake Jaycees.  Mark has always viewed his community service and professional life with the attitude best described as “What needs to be done and what do you need me to do to make it happen?” Mark is an individual who has always put “service before self”.

The Mark A. Elmore Architect Scholarship recipient is awarded $500 to help provide financial support to applicants pursuing a four year architectural degree.

We hope that the recipients of the Mark A. Elmore Architect Scholarship continue to carry on Mark’s foresight, passion, commitment and generosity throughout their professional life as well as make an indelible mark on the future of the community.
